Something hit me during church this morning that it would be neat to have some kind of “focus mode” that would just have the text of the scripture on screen, no lightbulbs, no commentaries, etc. The purpose would be more to give someone fewer distractions during a sermon or perhaps during a study of the text directly, perhaps before or after consulting other resources.
I like this idea. I had planned on creating a Reader mode, which would also do paragraph text (instead of verse-per-line). This could be thrown in as a third display mode in a select list.
Maybe “reader mode” and “focus mode” are the same thing? I can’t think of a situation where I’d prefer one over the other. If I want to hide the commentaries, paragraph mode seems appropriate. And a toggle is way better UI than a select list.
